Mayor Timmy J. Currier has announced the dates for the 2018 curbside spring clean-up -- a service provided to residential property owners located in the Village of Massena.
The Department of Public Works crews will pick up items:
“Please help us keep our neighborhood looking nice. Do not put items out until the weekend before your scheduled collection days. I have directed code enforcement to monitor this and deal with violations accordingly,” Mr. Currier said. Violators will be ticketed.
Crews will traverse a street only one time; and only clear bags, not dark bags, may be used.
Residents are asked to separate items into different piles, such as metal items, tires and Freon items, to assist crews in making the clean-up more efficient.
The following items will not be picked up and should not be put out:
They will pick up latex paint if dry; carpets and rugs; Freon items and tires; printers and keyboards; and furniture.
Cardboard should not be put out for spring clean-up, as it can be included in your weekly recycling.
DPW crews will chip branches at the curb.
